Master Lecture Series with Marsha Norman (Online)

Master teacher, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, educator, and activist Marsha Norman will address the craft and career of a dramatist.

For six weeks, Master teacher, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, educator, and activist Marsha Norman will focus on the craft and career of a dramatist and speak from her life of experiences as an artist, educator and Guild council member. Possible topics for lectures in this more advanced workshop include collaborations, building story, focusing your subject, understanding your audience, crafting character and songs in musical theatre and maybe most importantly, how to sustain a career in the theatre when so much around us changes and rearranges itself season to season, year to year. While there’s no structured writing assignments, if the opportunity presents it, there may be a sharing of creative work relevant to a topic being discussed.
