About the DGI

the DGI offers hands-on, rigorous training for writers at all skill levels.

Start with one of our foundational courses, examining the structure of plays or musicals. More experienced playwrights, lyricists, and composers hone their craft by participating in our writing workshops and master classes, led by top industry professionals. From learning how to analyze component theatrical parts to any play or musical in are Architecture of… series to understanding the obstacles of writing a web series, one of our many offerings is certain to suit your theatre writing needs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Spring 2021 course offerings will ALL take place online. Courses for the spring semester, which runs from March 2021 to May 2021, will be announced in January 2021; registration will take place in February 2021.
